Here's a glimpse of my most recent project: unique packaging for a one-of-a-kind client, I Got A Chef.
An upstart local business, Bring the Pane is a full-service window washing company. Its owner sought foundational branding to accompany his clear vision and mission. A cost-effective, visual WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor affords the flexibility to keep the design fresh and efficient at a price that the owner loves.

The owner needed a simple, low-maintenance landing page that reinforced a customer-first, reliable brand while staying within a limited budget. Using Google Sites, I delivered a high-value solution that enabled fast quote requests through a custom, branded form. Push notifications integrate with the owner’s existing business email, keeping the workflow simple and effective without added technical overhead.
"What started as a plan to refresh my logo became a mission to brand my business nearly from scratch. I had no idea where to begin. In his consultation, he asked questions about my business and my goals that I had never even considered. It got me fired up!
Within the first week of getting my site up and running, I had multiple calls for appointments. I'm not the most tech-savvy guy, but Mike set it up so I can make basic changes to my site without needing to pay an hourly fee to a web person. That's money saved and added control. I'm loving it."

This project involved a package of product copy, microcopy, and custom iconography. I went outside of my comfort zone to deliver assets from varying competencies. I have been taking on an increasing amount of graphic design work, but I credit my writing and communication skills for satisfied clients.
"Mike was amazing. One of the best freelancers in the entire world!
The copy is clever and relatable, and just what my brand needed to stand out in a crowded space.
Love his patience & flexibility. Definitely recommend him. 1,000 stars for sure."

Whitley sells personalized toll-free numbers and domain packages to businesses. He wanted to reach established B2B marketing agents and agencies rather than looky-loos. He expressed a strong desire for congruency in his brand and messaging. What evolved was lean-and-mean copy: comprehensive information and relevant case studies wrapped into a short, punchy script. The owner sought a voice for 877Whitley.com that was clever but approachable. Here's the result.
I love to learn about new things. To say this industry is interesting would be an understatement. I loved learning about the history through relevant case studies and some of my independent research. This was also my first attempt at vibe-coding to come up with a simple calculator to determine what your name would be (as a phone number).

The Heart of the Village is a property featuring three monthly apartment rentals in Carlsbad Village.
This is a proposed name for a prime office suite in an ideal locale at the Heart of the Village property. There are numerous placeholders as the site is not yet hosted. The writing is geared toward startups or large companies searching for a field office.
It's some of my best copy to date. See it in progress.
Evidence continues to support the effectiveness of animated logos. Below are examples of brands brought to life through simple animation.
The owners had never considered this as a possibility with their existing design.
